Advent is Here!
We began Advent November 29th and it ends on Christmas.
Advent is a time set aside by the church to pause and reflect.
We have done a lot of both in the past few months.
However, in the next four weeks, we will look at key parts of our faith journey. We will ask questions, reflect and act from our relationship with God, our understanding of ourselves and our interaction with our world.
I hope you will find time this Advent season to pause, reflect and grow. There's no right way to do that.
We are providing some options, but they are just options. Take some time to think about how YOU can spend this Advent Season.
1. We are focusing on one word each week.
Each week we will have a video to watch, an activity/devo for Individuals or Families and a Youtube Music playlist on our social media for each week.
2. Rethink Advent
This gives you 1 word each day to think about. Then they encourage you to post a picture that represents this word to you. You can share it on Social media or save it to your phone.
3. Participate in daily reading plan from Bible App
You can select your own, or join this one!

This app will remind you daily to read and reflect. If you participate with others, it will give you a chance to share your thoughts with them.
Week 1 HOPE
This week, we light the Hope candle on the Advent wreath.
And then think about this:
Where do you find HOPE in your world?
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with Hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" Romans 15:13
(individual or family)
This week we light the LOVE candle.
How does this video encourage you today?
"Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." 1John 4:11
How do you experience Love?
How does someone you are close to experience love?
How does a friend of yours experience love?
How could knowing this make a difference?
Why would God create us to be so different?
This week we lit the JOY candle.
Where do you see JOY in your daily life?
"For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness"
Which promises of God help you to rejoice today?
In response, write or sing a prayer to celebrate God’s promises to you.
Week 4 PEACE
This week, we light the PEACE candle on the Advent wreath.
And then think about this:
Where do you find PEACE in your world?
"May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace."
Considering what you have learned in the Bible so far. Name five habits (thoughts, actions, or words) that you believe are pleasing to God.
How do you think these habits could make peace even between enemies?
